Meet Dr Uta Waterhouse
Registered Clinical Psychologist - EMDR therapist
Kāpiti Coast, Wellington
As an experienced clinical psychologist, I offer a compassionate and safe environment and support for my clients to explore their life challenges, difficulties and strengths. By focussing on their individual needs, I empower my clients to reach their well-being goals with assessment, education and therapy.
I am passionate about supporting my clients experiencing emotional and or psychological difficulties that can occur at any time in their lives to gain relief from any symptoms they may have, to resolve issues and enhance their daily functioning, and to improve their quality of life.
Dr Uta Waterhouse
Registered Clinical Psychologist - EMDR Therapist

I gained my degrees in psychology from Victoria University in Wellington and have worked for Oranga Tamariki, Student Mental Health, and Community Mental Health Adult Services. This has given me the opportunity to work with clients of different ages, backgrounds and cultures with a broad spectrum of psychological problems, impaired abilities and emotional distress.
My training and experience cover a wide range of evidence-based therapies so that I can offer my clients collaborative, focused and effective support that is tailored to their individual preferences and needs.
I have particular expertise in trauma therapy, and I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist with advanced training. EMDR is the gold standard psychological therapy for trauma experiences which is also effective across a range of other psychological difficulties with ongoing research in these areas.
It is important to me to keep my clinical skills up to date and to the highest standard, so I read the latest relevant psychological research and literature, I attend conferences and workshops, engage in regular supervision, and review with my colleagues on an ongoing basis.
